Now that we know what the season will look like in terms of racing, the requirements to earn a letter will be adjusted to reflect this new reality
Here is what was posted in our handbook with the amendments:
Letter Requirements: #integrity #faithfulness #excellence
DISQUALIFIERS FOR EARNING A LETTER
Fall BELOW a 2.0 GPA on the quarter grade reports. Ineligibility will disqualify an athlete from lettering.
TO EARN A LETTER:
The Letter for King Cross Country is awarded for both talent and effort. It is designed to be a valued award for running ability, hard work and dedication. In this year of COVID conditions and the unknowns of the future, we will award a varsity letter to any student athlete who meets ALL of the following requirements::
1. Finish the season in good standing with the coaches, having demonstrated throughout the entire season a positive, team-oriented, success-minded attitude and conduct.
2. Finish in the top 10 King runners in a race (by time) in at least 50% or more of the season’s races
3. Finish the third quarter with a minimum of 2.0 GPA.
4. Don’t quit. Quitting for any reason prior to the end of the season will disqualify an athlete from a letter.
The coaching staff reserves the right to award a letter for extenuating circumstances
